Veterans Memorial Park in Stamford, Connecticut, recently underwent a transformative revitalization aimed at creating a more welcoming and educational space for the community. As part of this initiative, the City of Stamford partnered with Oxygen Design to develop a comprehensive interpretive signage system that honors the service and sacrifice of Stamford’s veterans while bringing the site’s rich history to life for visitors.
Working in close collaboration with historian and curator
Daryn Reyman-Lock, PhD of
Sawdust and Strata, Oxygen Design created a series of durable outdoor interpretive panels that trace the historical significance of the park, from its origins to its current role as a civic memorial. The signage pays tribute to each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and features selected Stamford residents who served both militarily and civically during pivotal moments in American history.
